Job description

The Staff Data Engineer is a technical leader responsible for designing scalable and resilient data systems. This role involves driving best practices, establishing architectural patterns, and ensuring the efficiency of data infrastructure., Join our Pipeline Team as a Staff Data Engineer - a role designed for a software engineer who thrives at the intersection of high-scale data and distributed systems. You won’t just be writing ETL; you will be engineering the high-performance delivery systems that power our customer-facing data products and serve as the governed source for our future Agentic AI initiatives., The below represents the primary duties of the position, others may be assigned as needed.   • Design and implement scalable data platforms for enterprise applications.
  • Establish best practices in data governance, security, and reliability.
  • Lead the evaluation and adoption of emerging data technologies.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the data engineering team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering with a proven track record of delivering complex projects/initiatives.
  • Strong expertise in Snowflake and DBT.
  • Proficient in SQL, advanced in Python.
  • Experience with continuous delivery practices in Data Engineering.
  • Good understanding of Airflow and one of the main cloud infrastructure providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • In-depth understanding of Data Engineering concepts (slowly changing dimension, incremental ELT, blue-green deployment).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.
  • Use of computer and phone systems: The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously.
