Our software is a fundamental pillar of our programmable optical circuit switching technology, enabling high-performance, scalable networking for AI and data center infrastructures.We are looking for a Photonics Software Core Engineer (Junior-Mid level) who is excited to work at the intersection of software, photonics, and systems engineering.Learn more about us atipronics.comWhat You’ll DoAs a Photonics SW Core Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and validation of the core software layers that control iPronics’ optical circuit switch. Your responsibilities will include:Participating in the design and development of core software layers controlling the optical circuit switch.Developing software tools to characterize and validate optical circuit switch behavior.Testing and analyzing software performance at the optical system level.Collaborating closely with other teams to understand and integrate subsystem controllers managed by the core software layer.What We’re Looking ForEducation & BackgroundBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Physics, or a related field.ExperienceExperience in the photonics field is valued (academic or professional).Junior to mid-level profiles are welcome.Technical SkillsFamiliarity with Git workflows.Experience in software testing practices.Experience working with optical lab equipment and software orchestration is a plus.Nice to HavePrior experience in integrated photonics.Familiarity with TDD / BDD frameworks and software design patterns.Git portfolio and/or open-source contributions.Soft SkillsStrong team player with a continuous learning mindset.Clear and effective communication skills.Adaptable and proactive, with a problem-solving attitude.What We OfferPermanent full-time positionHybrid work model (office, lab, and remote)December 24th and 31st offNew offices opening in DecemberPrivate health insuranceA collaborative, multidisciplinary environment where software directly controls cutting-edge photonic hardwareAt iPronics, software is not just a support function - it is a core enabler of our photonic technology.
