Database Architect

We are looking to extend our B2C team with a Database Architect.Based either in our Sofia or in our new Barcelona office, you will drive the evolution of our data infrastructure across our European hubs.You will take ownership of our current environment, optimize system performance, and design our long-term migration strategy to the cloud.This role is pivotal in balancing day?to?day stability with future?proof scalability.The technology currently in use is MySQL (Percona XtraDB and MariaDB).You will be a part of a friendly and open?minded team, enjoying an informal attitude and high level of cooperation.What will you be doing?Architecture & Design: Own and optimize our core database structures built on MySQL and MariaDB.Cloud Migration: Architect and execute our long?term data migration strategy to Amazon Web Services (AWS).Performance Tuning: Diagnose complex database bottlenecks, optimize query execution, and implement efficient indexing strategies.Modernization: Evaluate, plan and integrate alternative DB solutions (PostgreSQL) where appropriate to improve system capabilities.Security & Reliability: Establish robust disaster recovery plans, high?availability configurations, and strict data security protocols.Collaboration: Partner with development teams Bulgaria, Netherlands and Malta to enforce modern data standards and best practices.Who are you?Experience: 10+ years of database engineering, data modeling, or advanced DBA experience.Core Expertise: Deep, hands?on production experience with MySQL and MariaDB.Cloud Vision: Experience or strong knowledge of architecting data solutions within AWS (e.g., RDS, Aurora).Communication: Strong English language skills for seamless collaboration across international offices.Nice to haveProfessional familiarity or expertise with PostgreSQL is highly valued.Past working experience in a Gambling/Casino company or understanding the Gambling/Casino business domain.BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.BenefitsA competitive and attractive salaryPrivate health insuranceA weekly breakfastSocial events for building strong relationships with colleagues#J-*****-Ljbffr
