Job description

What you’ll do As a Sales Engineer SCADA/MES, you are the technical brain behind the commercial process. You support the Sales and Account Manager by translating customer requests into technical solutions, calculations, and proposals. In addition, you carry out preliminary research and consultancy activities and visit customers to discuss new projects. You connect commercial opportunities to technical feasibility, directly contributing to the growth of AT-Automation. You will be working in the SCADA/MES department within AT-Automation. You report to the Operational Director/Team Leader Ignition and work closely with the Innovation Manager, Team Leader, Sales and Account Manager, and Software Engineers of the SCADA/MES department. You are the technical point of contact during the sales phase and act as a bridge between customers, sales, and the technical teams. Responsibilities

  • Translating customer questions into technical solutions and calculations.
  • Supporting the Sales and Account Manager in customer meetings with technical input.
  • Conducting preliminary research with customers and preparing advisory reports.
  • Visiting customers for inventory, advice, and new project discussions.
  • Preparing and giving presentations and demos in Ignition (SCADA, MES, and IIoT).
  • Writing technical justifications in quotes and proposals.
  • Spotting opportunities with customers and turning them into new projects. Authority

  • Independently perform technical analyses and work out calculations.
  • Represent AT-Automation with clients and at events.
  • Make decisions about the technical content of quotes within agreed frameworks.
  • Advise clients on SCADA/MES architectures and project approaches

Requirements

  • You are customer-oriented and strong in communication.
  • Technically knowledgeable (SCADA, MES, and IIoT).
  • You have analytical insight and problem-solving skills.
  • You have commercial awareness and persuading power.
  • You work in a structured and results-driven way.
  • Proactive, eager to learn, and full of initiative.
  • Flexible with working hours and willing to travel (internationally). In addition, you bring the following education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, or ICT.
  • At least 5 years of experience in SCADA/MES projects or technical sales, preferably with Ignition.
  • Knowledge of and experience with SQL databases, Python, ISA-95 and ISA-88 standards.
  • Understanding of industrial production processes.
  • Experience with preliminary research, consulting, and cost calculations.
