This role focuses on practical, hands-on development: solving problems, improving data flow, and making sure production systems are reliable, secure, and easy to use.

You’ll work closely with production, engineering, and operations teams to design and deliver software and automation solutions that improve performance, traceability, and compliance across the manufacturing facility.

You will be:

Developing, deploying, and maintaining software tools, scripts, and applications used in production and test environments

Designing and implementing IT and automation solutions to improve data flow, traceability, and process efficiency

Troubleshooting and resolving system and application issues that affect manufacturing operations

Integrating production tools and test equipment with databases, ERP, and MES systems

Working with engineering and operations teams to define digital requirements and technical solutions

Ensuring systems are reliable, secure, and compliant with industry and internal standards

Analysing production data to identify inefficiencies and propose system improvements

Keeping clear and accurate documentation of system configurations, updates, and integrations

Requirements

Ability to develop software using Python, Rust, C#, or similar languages

Strong understanding of database design and management (e.g. SQL, PostgreSQL)

Familiarity with machine vision systems in a manufacturing environment

Working knowledge of system integration, APIs, and automation frameworks

Understanding of networked industrial systems, data collection, and IoT architectures

Comfortable using Git and following good software documentation practices

Awareness of cybersecurity principles and IT system validation
