Job description
- Provide SAP core capability support and sensitive operational products across steady-state ops, contingencies, crisis action, disaster relief, and exercises
- Integrate information-related capabilities and sensitive activities into OPORDs, annexes/appendices/tabs, and evaluation or assessment plans
- Review, analyze, and advise leadership on impacts of national-level strategy, policy, and joint doctrine
- Develop IO planning products (appendices, annexes, tabs, estimates) supporting capabilities such as EW, OIE support, MILDEC, cyberspace operations, OPSEC, and IJSTO
- Research, analyze, assess, and help operationalize information-related tools and capabilities (including EW, MISO/PSYOP, MILDEC, CO, OPSEC, IJSTO)
- Support planning, staffing, coordination, execution, and assessment of sensitive activities
- Contribute to focused outreach, experiments, and scientific application integration where required.
Requirements
- Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years planning experience, or 12+ years total combined education and relevant experience (additional experience may substitute for degree requirements)
- Training: Special Activities Planners Course completion (required)
- Career field experience: Background in IO / MISO / PSYOP (e.g., 30/37A/37F)
- SAP planning depth: Minimum 5 years SAP planning at service or joint level supporting CCMDs or JTFs, especially tied to cyber operations
- Demonstrated knowledge integrating special capabilities and SAP operations into JOPP/MDMP, campaign planning, targeting, and IO plans/orders
- Working knowledge of IO, MILDEC, OPSEC, EW, and cyberspace operations, and how to synchronize joint capabilities and activities
- Experience coordinating and synchronizing adjacent/supporting operations with interagency and intelligence community entities, including intelligence requirement coordination
- Familiarity with Service component functions (Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force) and how they coordinate through CCMD channels, * Current polygraph
- Recent joint or service-level IO planning experience
- Current or recent SAP work supporting USCYBERCOM planning efforts
- Experience integrating MISO/PSYOP into cyber plans and operations
- Strong knowledge of command relationships and C2 procedures; ability to coordinate SAP actions through proper channels and policy
- Experience coordinating with DoD program managers/coordinators and interagency partners (including ACCM-related coordination)
- Executive-level briefing skills (oral, written, visual), with the ability to persuade and gain stakeholder alignment
- Relevant advanced courses (examples): Joint Cyber Operations Planner, Joint IO Planner, Defense OPSEC Planner, SOF MILDEC Planner, Irregular Warfare, and related targeting/analysis courses
