Solutions Engineer, Carrier

Experteer Overview As a Solutions Engineer on Bluebird Fiber’s Business Development Team, you translate the product portfolio into clear, technically sound solutions for pre- and post-sales interactions. You design fiber-based networks (Ethernet, IP, MPLS, DWDM, Dark Fiber) that meet customer needs while aligning with hyperscaler standards and compliance. You collaborate across Sales, Network Engineering, and Architecture to ensure scalable, reliable deployments and provide support throughout implementation and RFP processes. Compensation / Benefits * Partner with Sales to capture customer requirements and deliver presentations, proposals, and solution designs * Develop high-level and detailed network designs for fiber-based solutions (Ethernet, IP, MPLS, DWDM, Dark Fiber) * Ensure designs comply with carrier customer standards and regulatory requirements * Provide consultative guidance on fiber backhaul, dark fiber, and lit services * Collaborate with Network Engineering, Operations, and Product Management on emerging technologies and strategic initiatives * Maintain accurate network documentation and solution guides for internal and external customers * Ensure successful deployment, integration, and technical support during deployment and troubleshooting * Support customer appreciation events and other marketing events Tasks * 5+ years of fiber network design and engineering experience * Strong understanding of Ethernet, IP, MPLS, BGP, and DWDM * Excellent oral and written communications for customer-facing interactions and technical presentations * Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment; occasional overnight travel * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience * Carrier telecommunications experience is a plus * Internet Service Provider experience is a plus * Knowledge of Google Earth and/or outside plant tools is a plus * Hyperscaler connectivity experience is a plus Key requirements *
