Forward Deployed Engineer, Gen AI

Experteer Overview In this role you embed with a bank’s Fixed Income teams in New York to translate business workflows into AI-enabled solutions. You will partner with traders, researchers, and operations to design and build production-grade AI applications, bridging business context with engineering execution. You’ll prototype, test, and deploy AI solutions while ensuring governance, security, and compliance. This is a hands-on, client-facing position that combines software engineering with practical generative AI in a regulated financial-services environment, offering high-value impact on workflows and decision support. Compensation / Benefits * Embed with Fixed Income teams to map pain points and data readiness * Collaborate with stakeholders across trading, research, operations, risk, compliance, and technology * Design, prototype, and build generative AI apps using Python and agent SDKs * Develop AI solutions for knowledge retrieval, workflow automation, document analysis, trade support, and reporting * Build retrieval pipelines across structured/unstructured data * Apply prompt engineering to improve accuracy, explanations, and trust * Create evaluation frameworks for AI outputs focusing on accuracy, completeness, hallucination risk, and compliance * Ensure solutions meet security, data privacy, auditability, and governance standards * Communicate trade-offs clearly to tech and business teams * Support user adoption by iterating workflows and proving business value * Identify reusable patterns and accelerators for scaling across financial-use cases Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, finance, or related field, or equivalent practical experience * Strong hands-on Python experience and modern software engineering practices * Experience building AI apps using Python and OpenAI or Claude Agent SDKs or equivalent * Strong prompt engineering skills including design, testing, grounding, and validation * Experience with APIs, databases, cloud services, and enterprise data sources * Ability to engage with business stakeholders, lead discovery, and convert problems into solutions * Strong communication skills to explain AI concepts and design choices to non-technical audiences * Experience working in agile environments where prototypes evolve into production-ready solutions Key requirements *
