Principal Software Engineer, Cloud Platform Services

We are looking for a senior engineer to design and build a cloud offering of MapR’s data platform for AI/ML, operational analytics, and IoT. IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

• Be a part of the founding team responsible for shaping the cloud offering of MapR’s data platform
• Architect, design and implement scalable services to support a containerized deployment of the MapR Data Platform on the public cloud

• Set clear goals, project milestones, and engineering plans to ensure timely product delivery WHAT YOU’LL GET IN RETURN:

• BS degree in Computer Science or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
• Experience designing and architecting applications for the cloud (Google Cloud Platform, AWS or Azure).
• Experience running large-scale distributed computing systems in a SaaS or PaaS environment
• Experience working with the cloud stack technologies such as containers (Kubernetes) and microservices is a plus
• Strong programming experience in Java, Scala or other JVM languages and a desire to be hands-on
• Past architecture experience with the following Big Data technologies is a plus: Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL Databases such as HBase
