Job description
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Linux Engineer to join our growing team to help us build, ship, and secure world class, mission critical systems deployed across a variety of platforms and environments. The ideal candidate will have deep hands on experience managing, configuring, and troubleshooting systems that run on Linux, preferably RHEL.
Some of what you’ll do:
- Design, build, and maintain server and network infrastructure running on the Linux operating system (we use mostly RHEL).
- Perform system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems
- Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups
- Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access.
- Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses
- May assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software
- Support functional and system level testing
Requirements
Skills and experience you bring:
- 4+ years of experience in Linux systems engineering or administration in a high-availability production environment.
- Deep knowledge of Linux distribution internals (RHEL/CentOS ecosystem or Debian/Ubuntu).
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and experience with post-mortem documentation.
- Ability to obtain US Secret clearance
- US Citizen
Nice to have:
- Big plus: RedHat Certifications (RHCE, RHCA, etc)
- Experience in DevSecOps
- Understanding of Linux networking and network troubleshooting
- Experience with Ansible
- Experience with STIG compliance and security applications
- Exposure to cybersecurity principles
- B.S. in STEM or engineering field (Software, Math, Physics, Electrical, etc.)
- Active US Secret clearance
