Systems Engineer

Gridiron is looking for 6 highly skilled Systems Engineers with an active TS/SCI clearance local to Herndon, VA. Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide systems engineering and enterprise architecture support to USG customers.
• Effectively communicate mission needs to customers and staff.
• Work with customers to improve their architecture and engineering workflows and processes with the identification or design of processes and tools.
• Responsible for articulating and capturing the architecture, system requirements, system design, and testing approach.
• Investigate and capture “As Is” architecture or workflows; identify “To Be” states; and make recommendation on transition from “As Is” to “To Be”.
• Develop standard and repeatable processes, as appropriate, to recommend on architecture, engineering, development and integration projects. Familiarity with the System V and how that is used to develop products in order to apply to customer practices.
• Produce and support leadership team in the identification and creation of Enterprise Architecture Repository artifacts as required.
• Support engineering review boards.
• Excellent discipline in program documentation

• US citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance and willing to obtain a CI Poly within 6 months of starting.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline. In lieu of a degree, 4 additional year of experience may be substituted.
• 5 years of experience.
• Experience performing all/most aspects of the system engineering (requirements analysis, interface control documentation, ConOps development, Use Case development, data flows and developing Test Plans.)
• Familiarity with a Requirements Tool.
• SCRUM/AGILE Development (Jira).

• Familiar with deployment and maintenance of Development, Test and Operational environments. An Excellent Candidate for this position will meet most of the following experience requirements:

• 8 years experience
• Experience with software and system development projects using model based system engineering. Not married to any traditional SE framework (The Systems Engineering V, SAFe, etc), The project’s process borrows from all of those but does not follow a specific doctrine
• Familiar with Enterprise Architecture concepts, System Engineering Principles as depicted in the System V, and MBSE realization in a model.
• Worked on a team using Agile or SAFe development processes.
• Practices best practices when writing requirements.
• Familiarity with Aerospace Engineering and space operations
• Self-starting, self-organizing, self-prioritizing
• Superior communication skills
• A positive, willing attitude Clearance Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance required and willing to get processed for a CI Poly within 6 months of starting.

Salary Range: $135,000 - $250,000 (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
