As a Database Administrator you will work on a team to provide high quality database services that satisfy our customersâ needs. You will administer and manage CARFAXâs web facing, and internal business intelligence databases. We even provide the dog beds, bowls and of course, toys! AS A DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR YOU WILL:
- Own, track, and resolve database related incidents
- Provide 24/7 on-call rotation support to our customers.
- Design and architect new database technologies for CARFAXâs products
- Monitor application related jobs and data replication activities
- Manage replication between database systems
- Setup and maintain documentation and standards
- Plan growth and changes (capacity planning)
- Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams
Requirements
- 3+ years experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Cassandra, etc.
- 2+ years experience with relational databases such as Oracle, Postgres, or MySQL
- 2+ years managing highly available, scalable production systems in a fast-paced production environment
- Experience with Cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Understanding of data architecture, replication, and administration
- A good knowledge of physical database design
- A good knowledge of security management
- A good knowledge data integrity
- A sound knowledge of both database and system performance tuning
- Experience with automation tools such as Chef/Puppet
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
