Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Cloud Network Engineer with deep expertise in designing, implementing, and managing complex network architectures across hybrid and multicloud environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cloud migrations, network security, and cyber security, particularly within the U.S. Federal sector, including FISMA Moderate and High systems. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical foundation and a passion for secure, scalable, and resilient network solutions. Clearance Requirements: US Citizenship and eligibility for Public Trust RESPONSIBILITIES Design and implement secure, scalable, and high-performance network architectures across hybrid cloud environments. Lead network integration and migration efforts from on-premises to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Ensure compliance with federal security standards including FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST guidelines. Configure and manage VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, and network gateways. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and reliability. Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain network security controls and incident response plans. Automate network provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools. Document network designs, configurations, and operational procedures. Stay current with emerging networking technologies and recommend improvements.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in network engineering with a focus on cloud and hybrid infrastructure. Hands-on experience with AWS networking services (VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, etc.). Experience with Azure and/or GCP networking components is a plus. Strong understanding of routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, and network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF). Proficiency in network security practices and tools (IDS/IPS, firewalls, VPNs). Experience working with federal agencies and securing FISMA Moderate/High systems. Familiarity with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation. Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell). Excellent communication and documentation skills. Preferred certifications: AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate Google Cloud Certified: Professional Cloud Network Engineer Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) CompTIA Security+ or CASP+
