Staff Engineer, Cybersecurity Platform (R5531)

Experteer Overview In this role you will design, implement, and optimize complex software and network infrastructures to strengthen cyber defenses. You’ll work hands-on as a technical expert, shaping the network and infrastructure strategy for secure, scalable systems in a defense context. You’ll collaborate across cybersecurity and network teams to meet compliance, risk mitigation, and operational objectives. This is a mission-driven opportunity to influence secure baseline architectures and incident response at scale. Compensation / Benefits * Decompose and translate cyber requirements into system architecture * Enforce secure network design and compliance with cybersecurity standards * Develop documentation to obtain Authorizations to Operate (ATOs) * Optimize network topologies (segmentation, firewalls, VPNs, zero-trust) * Collaborate to implement STIGs and POAMs for risk mitigation * Contribute to threat detection, mitigation, and incident response strategies * Provide technical insight on the X-BAT GCS cybersecurity stack to cross-functional teams * Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance through proactive design and monitoring * Support troubleshooting of complex network and infrastructure issues * Work with Network Engineering on Voice Over IP capabilities Tasks * Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant IT field * 5+ years in platform engineering, cybersecurity or network engineering * Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP * Strong cybersecurity framework expertise (Zero Trust, NIST SP 800-53/800-63B, ISO 27001) * Hands-on experience with enterprise networking hardware * Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hybrid environments * Experience implementing Voice Over IP solutions Key requirements * Bonus * Benefits * Equity * Career growth opportunities
