Senior Software Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you will tackle complex software challenges within a defense-focused portfolio. You’ll contribute to research, design, development, and testing, while interfacing with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software solutions. You’ll identify technical risks, drive test strategies, and help advance our software engineering practices. You will work with limited supervision and exercise meaningful decision-making authority in a mission-driven environment. Compensation / Benefits * Participates in software development/engineering programs * Identifies, investigates and resolves technical issues * Participates in software design and risk mitigation activities * Develops and executes software test methods and test data * Defines test schedules and tests data requirements; tests software and documents results * Prepares development software and codes enhancements * Designs, develops and maintains software applications and system enhancements * Performs debugging and troubleshooting to resolve software issues * Collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver software solutions * Participates in Agile development activities (sprints, stand-ups, retrospectives) * Uses approved tools for development, source control and task management * Participates in design reviews, code reviews and technical meetings * Maintains state-of-the-art awareness in technical areas and applies expertise * Prepares and maintains software design, technical and end-user documentation * Identifies and supports software engineering process improvements * Participates in total quality management/continuous process improvement * Interfaces with team members, management, and stakeholders * Assumes additional technical responsibilities as necessary Tasks * Four-year college degree in computer science, electronic engineering or related discipline, plus at least five years of related experience, or a master’s degree with at least three years of related experience * Must be eligible for a DOD Security Clearance * Experience in software development/engineering, specification, design and development of software systems * Proficiency in C++, Java, C#, Product Lifecycle Management, graphics or related development software * Experience developing software in Windows and Linux environments (preferred) * Experience with Visual Studio, CMake, Git, containerized applications, CI/CD processes and Agile methodologies (preferred) * Knowledge of software testing methodologies, debugging techniques and design patterns * Strong verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder interface * Ability to solve complex engineering problems and prioritize multiple tasks under deadlines * Willingness to travel domestically and internationally * Must be able to work in a lab environment and use a computer Key requirements *
