Experteer Overview As Senior Software Engineer, Content Platform, you design and deliver scalable backend and data solutions that power Roku’s content onboarding and downstream systems. You will shape the data platform to support Search, Recommendations, Ads, and Voice, enabling robust, real-time processing at scale. You work with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and reliability in a fast-growing, data-first environment. This role offers impact across products and services that connect viewers with content globally. Compensation / Benefits * Architect, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs using Java and Akka * Build distributed data pipelines for batch and real-time processing * Design efficient, scalable systems handling large data volumes * Develop real-time data processing applications with low latency and high throughput * Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize backend and data systems for high availability Tasks * 7+ years of backend development experience * Proven expertise in designing and building scalable Java-based systems * Hands-on experience with Spark, Kafka, and Flink * Strong knowledge of distributed systems and microservices * Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) * Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes * Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, Aerospike) * Knowledge of Java frameworks (Spring, Spring Boot) Key requirements * health insurance * equity awards * life insurance * disability benefits * parenteral leave * wellness benefits (mental health and financial wellness)
