Job description
A fast-growing, well-capitalized vertical SaaS company in the Glendale area is looking for a Vice President of Engineering who wants to be in the weeds, not just in the org chart. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has personally scaled an engineering team from a smaller base past 50 people, while staying close to architecture and product decisions day to day. The product is a UI-heavy application used daily by real customers in a large, traditionally underserved industry, and the team is still early enough that you’d help build the engineering culture from close to the ground floor.
Requirements
- 12 or more years in technology leadership, including several years in a senior engineering executive role.
- A track record of growing a team through a real scaling phase, not inheriting one already built.
- Comfort owning a budget across engineering, product, and design, not just a technical team in isolation.
- Genuine hands-on habits, you can still speak fluently to architecture and product tradeoffs without deferring to a report.
- Bonus if you’ve used AI-assisted engineering workflows heavily in your own daily work. If this sounds like you, we would love to talk.
