Job description

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Principal System Engineer providing support to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center-Ground Base Air Defense Sensor division (AFLCMC/ESG).

The ESG Division manages efforts focused on developing, acquiring, fielding and sustaining programs that support worldwide communications, Battle Management, Command & Control, Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C2ISR), Air/Ground Surveillance, Time Critical Targeting, Combat Identification, Radar Imagery, Integrated Air/Missile Defense, and Mobile/Fixed C2ISR Performance, Exploitation & Dissemination Facilities.

This is a full-time position located at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

Duties includ e, but not limited to:

  • Direct Engineering support to the Branch Lead Engineer
  • Oversee high-visibility engineering efforts and acquisition activities supporting the Three-Dimensional Long Range Radar (3DELRR), Wide Area Surveillance (WAS, and National Capital Region-Integrated Air Defense (NCR-IADS) programs
  • Initiates, oversees, and/or develops requirements from Branch project’s inception to conclusion
  • Provides strategic advice, technical guidance, and expertise to program, project staff, ESG Senior Engineering leadership
  • Provides detailed analyses, evaluations, and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts
  • Consults with program stakeholders, operators, and program office leadership to define needs or problems; oversees studies; and leads surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions
  • Oversees Branch Systems Engineering processes, ensuring proper implementation across the branch and coordinating of required process changes
  • Participates, as required, in stakeholder forums and their strategic planning, including NORAD CONOPS development, requirements development, and user TTP development
  • Stays informed on technology developments by attending technology discussions, forums, and independent research.
  • Maintains the program development roadmaps
  • Apply advanced systems engineering principles, concepts, standards, and methods to support program objectives, cost, schedule, and performance requirements

Requirements

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Clearance: Must have an Active Secret Clearance and be Top Secret Eligble

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related professional engineering discipline

Years of Experience: 20+ years of relevant experience and at least 12 years of experience in a DoD environment

Experience: Preferred experience with DoD tactical radars and integration with command and control reporting systems

  • Polished professional presence; prior military leadership experience preferred

Benefits & conditions

Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as the Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
