Software Development Test Engineer (Starlink)

Experteer Overview As a Software Development Test Engineer for Starlink, you design and build hardware-in-the-loop test systems to validate Starlink software and hardware integration. You’ll create testbeds and simulations that mirror on-orbit scenarios, enabling flight-like testing and scalable HITL operations. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, safe test platforms and help drive the growth of Starlink’s software testing capabilities. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge space tech and a mission to extend global broadband connectivity. Compensation / Benefits * Design, build, and maintain hardware-in-the-loop testbeds and supporting infrastructure for the Starlink CI system * Develop test cases and simulation environments to replicate on-orbit scenarios for flight-like testing * Ensure software test coverage balances reliability, velocity, and safety * Scale the HITL fleet to meet growing test demands * Analyze HITL results to identify issues and prevent bugs from reaching production Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline * 1+ years of professional test experience in electrical, mechanical, and/or aerospace engineering * Development experience in Python * Experience with CI/CD pipeline development Key requirements *
