Job description
Kforce has a client in Columbus, OH that is seeking a Product Owner., * Own the Product Backlog: Define, prioritize, and maintain a well-groomed backlog of epics, features, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria across policyholder and agent-facing platforms
- PolicyCenter Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert on Guidewire PolicyCenter, translating business needs into delivery-ready stories, configuration requirements, and system changes
- Customer & Policyholder Journey Mapping: Lead journey mapping sessions to identify pain points, gaps, and opportunities across the full policy lifecycle (quote, bind, service, renewal, claims) for both agents and policyholders
- Front-End Experience Ownership: Partner with UX/design, development, and QA teams to deliver rich, intuitive front-end digital experiences for agents and customers across web and portal platforms
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison between business partners, IT, PMO, and QA, gathering requirements, facilitating workshops, and ensuring alignment on priorities and timelines
- Agile Execution: Lead and participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives; support PI planning in SAFe environments if applicable
- Cross-Line Coverage: Manage product initiatives spanning both Personal Lines and Commercial Lines, including portal rollouts, system enhancements, and new capability launches
- Risk & Dependency Management: Proactively identify delivery risks, manage cross-team dependencies, and escalate with options and recommendations
- Change Management Support: Partner on change readiness, communications, and training inputs for new platform capabilities or rollouts
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a Product Owner, Senior BA, or Product Consultant role within an insurance or financial services environment
- Guidewire PolicyCenter experience is required - hands-on configuration knowledge or deep functional expertise strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience with customer/policyholder journey mapping and translating CX insights into product requirements
- Strong front-end/digital product background - experience collaborating with UX/UI teams and delivering consumer-facing web or portal solutions
- Solid understanding of P&C insurance products - Personal Lines and/or Commercial Lines (auto, home, business, commercial package, etc.)
- Proficiency with Agile methodologies: Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe; experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria
- Strong business acumen, ability to connect product decisions to underwriting, rating, servicing, and business outcomes
- Experience working in a PMO environment and managing day-to-day project assignments from business partners
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills: comfortable presenting to stakeholders at all levels

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
