Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will lead the design and evolution of SpaceX’s Starlink C++ vehicle dynamics simulator and its supporting tooling. You will build high-performance Monte Carlo simulations, HITL setups, testing frameworks, and data visualization for GNC development. Collaborating across engineering, you’ll model multi-body physics and hardware behaviors to scale the simulator with the growing constellation. This is a high-impact, performance-driven opportunity to shape core simulation infrastructure and enable cutting-edge space software and hardware work. Compensation / Benefits * Lead major refactors and evolution of the core C++ vehicle dynamics simulator and testing infrastructure for Starlink * Architect high-performance Monte Carlo simulation infrastructure with dispersion handling and reliability for large-scale runs * Develop new simulation features, models, and tooling focused on performance, usability, and extensibility * Own performance optimization, profiling, CI, unit/integration testing, and reliability improvements across the stack * Design and implement testing frameworks, support infrastructure, and visualization components to accelerate GNC development * Collaborate cross-functionally to model multi-body physics, environmental effects, and hardware behaviors with high software quality Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 1+ years of software development experience; OR 4+ years of professional software development experience in performant C++ OR numerical simulations Key requirements * medical, vision, and dental coverage * 401(k) retirement plan * stock and long-term incentives plus bonuses * paid vacation (3 weeks) and 10+ paid holidays * paid parental leave * company shuttle service to certain locations
