Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Engineer to join our team in supporting the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) - MEGA 6 Automated Litigation Support program. This is a full-time, remote position, contingent upon award, requiring an individual with a strong background in information security, cybersecurity, and systems administration., * Design, implement, and maintain security solutions to protect sensitive data and systems.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security risks.
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor and analyze security events and logs to detect and respond to security incidents.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into new and existing systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance to ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.
- Stay current with emerging security threats and trends, and recommend improvements to enhance security posture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Proven experience with security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and security information and event management (SIEM) solutions.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks, standards, and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Active Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with government agencies or contractors.
- Knowledge of DOJ-specific security requirements and procedures.
- Experience with cloud security and virtualization technologies.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+.
