Principal Software Engineering

Experteer Overview As Principal Software Engineer, you will steer enterprise-scale architecture and delivery excellence across web platforms. You’ll influence multi-team solutions, ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing apps using TypeScript, React, and Node.js on cloud platforms. Your leadership will raise engineering maturity, establish standards, and promote AI-assisted development to accelerate delivery. This role combines technical authority with strategic collaboration to modernize systems at scale. Compensation / Benefits * Define and evolve enterprise architecture patterns across front-end, API, and cloud-native systems * Lead design of large-scale, distributed, and highly available systems across teams * Establish engineering standards and reference architectures for TypeScript/React and Node.js ecosystems * Drive modernization initiatives (monolith to microservices, API-first, event-driven, cloud-native) * Oversee end-to-end system design reviews and architecture governance * Champion engineering quality at scale with automated testing, CI/CD maturity, and secure SDLC practices * Mentor senior staff engineers and influence technical roadmaps and platform strategy * Guide development of enterprise-grade React + TypeScript applications and Node.js APIs * Define data access, caching, and API performance patterns across relational/NoSQL databases * Lead adoption of event-driven and real-time architectures where appropriate * Design cloud-native architectures (AWS/Azure) with containers, serverless, and platform services * Collaborate with platform teams to create reusable frameworks and shared services * Lead AI-assisted development practices to improve productivity and quality * Stay at the forefront of technologies and represent engineering in executive discussions Tasks * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience * Eight years of experience with distributed applications and microservices * Experience with big data, streaming analytics, and data warehousing architectures * Proficiency with TypeScript/React, Node.js, and API design (OpenAPI) * Experience with cloud services (AWS/Azure) and CI/CD tools * Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and related deployment tools * Expertise in REST-based API development and microservices frameworks * Proficiency in NoSQL technologies (e.g., Cosmos DB, Cassandra, DynamoDB) * Strong technical communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills * Experience coaching engineers in scaled agile environments * Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering concepts and governance Key requirements * Competitive pay * Bonus eligibility * Pension plan * 401k match * Medical, dental, vision insurance * Tuition reimbursement
