Senior Software Engineer - Wordpress

Growth Leads is an online lead generation company operating in competitive verticals such as iGaming, Financials, Health, and Communications. Data drives our decisions and enables us to optimize performance across all acquisition channels.About the roleThis is a senior software engineering role building large-scale systems on top of Wordpress. You’ll be hands-on in the codebase while setting technical direction for the team and translating business needs into clear, executable plans. While Wordpress is the foundation, most day-to-day work happens in a codebase built around modern object-oriented PHP.What you’ll doDesign and build scalable solutions on top of Wordpress - custom plugins on different layers, complex integrations, content management at scale.Build shared systems that support many WP sites with different requirements.Plan for platform growth by designing systems that accommodate increased traffic, newly emerging business needs, and changing regulatory requirements.Translate business needs into technical implementation plans and priorities.Work with the team to design, implement, and troubleshoot complex features.Guide developers day-to-day, answering technical questions and unblocking the team.Improve performance, scalability, and reliability.Identify and remove technical debt and performance bottlenecks.What we’re looking forSenior/architect-level PHP 8+ experience - must be able to design systems and write the code.Comfortable reading and writing framework-level PHP.Strong systems-thinking skills and good engineering intuition.Full stack experience with backend focus.Deep Wordpress experience building application-level systems rather than only traditional themes and small plugins.Strong understanding of the web stack andComfortable taking ownership of technical decisions and their long-term consequences.Advanced knowledge in web performance.Experience guiding or leading a small team of developers.Able to communicate technical decisions clearly.Able to make pragmatic architectural decisions in the face of changing requirements.Demonstrated experience designing and evolving production systems over multiple years.Preferred experienceLead generation, affiliate marketing, SEO-focused digital publishing.Managing large numbers of Wordpress sites.Experience with GDPR, gambling regulation, financial regulation, or similar compliance-heavy environments.What we offerOwnership & Impact: You will help shape the architecture, scalability, and long-term direction of a growing digital platform operating in competitive industries.Flexibility: Remote working environment, or come join us at our office in MaltaCompetitive Compensation: We offer competitive compensation packages, with opportunities for performance-based incentives#J-*****-Ljbffr
