Job description

We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading consultancy clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Full Stack Developer to join their team for a six-month contract., The Senior Full Stack Engineer owns feature delivery on the client’s B2B SaaS product serving home energy brands. Working under the direction of the Engineering Lead and the Product Owner, this role builds largely independently within our established stack and codebase: the architecture is set, the prototype exists, and the job is turning designs and specs into production features at 0-to-1 velocity. The ideal candidate is a senior, self-directed engineer who ships production work with AI-assisted development as the default workflow - Claude Code is how we build here, not an experiment.

  • Build production features across the full stack - TypeScript and React on the Front End, Python and REST APIs on the Back End - from design handoff through deployment.
  • Translate production-ready designs and written specs into working features that match design intent without rework.
  • Read, navigate, and extend the existing codebase, following established patterns and the platform’s component library.
  • Own the full life cycle of assigned work independently - development, testing, and production deployment - with minimal day-to-day oversight.
  • Use Claude Code as the primary development workflow - planning, building, and validating with AI in the loop to move at build velocity a solo engineer could not otherwise reach.
  • Turn AI-generated output into clean, maintainable, production-quality code that fits the existing architecture. You own everything you ship, regardless of how it was written.
  • Contribute to the team’s shared AI development practices - specs, prompts, and review workflows - as they evolve.
  • Platform and Data
  • Work across our AWS stack - Athena, S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Amplify, and CloudFront - to deliver and support features end to end.
  • Write, debug, and optimize SQL for data access, reporting views, and application support.
  • Consume and develop REST APIs, integrating internal services and third-party data sources.
  • Take direction from the Engineering Lead on architecture, code standards, and technical decisions, and from the Product Owner on scope, priorities, and acceptance.
  • Work directly with the Product Designer during implementation to resolve edge cases and hold design fidelity.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Several years of professional full stack engineering experience, including prior work on a 0-to-1 or early-stage build.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, particularly Athena, S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Amplify, and CloudFront.
  • Proficiency with TypeScript and React, including components, hooks, and state management.
  • Experience with Python for Scripting, APIs, or Back End services.
  • Strong SQL skills - querying, data modelling, and debugging.
  • Experience consuming and/or developing REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with Git and basic CI/CD practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, navigate, and improve an existing codebase.
  • Hands-on, daily use of AI development tools (Claude Code or equivalent) with a track record of shipping production work with them.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a contract capacity within an established technical structure.
  • Familiarity with data pipelines or ETL processes is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) is a plus.
