Senior Reliability Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you drive the Remote Monitoring Centre setup and lead the APM implementation to optimize machinery and mobile equipment reliability. You will translate sensor data and field information into actionable maintenance improvements and collaborate across IT, operations, and maintenance to scale asset health insight. Your work directly supports safer, more reliable operations with measurable reliability and cost benefits. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role that blends engineering rigor with operations-facing leadership, in a dynamic mining environment. Compensation / Benefits * Lead setup, implementation and sustainment of Remote Asset Health Monitoring for critical assets * Develop asset health models integrating sensor, Historian, and maintenance data * Guide OT/IT integration concepts (historians, CMMS, APM platforms) and validate data * Collaborate with IT, Data Analytics, and OEMs to ensure reliable data pipelines * Serve as technical owner and reliability lead for the APM implementation * Define reliability framework for APM: asset hierarchies, failure modes, risk models, health indicators * Configure predictive models, rules-based alerts, and dashboards; translate outputs into maintenance actions * Support CBM/PdM by defining asset criticality, data requirements, and field data quality processes * Apply data analytics to asset health insights; validate outputs with engineering judgment * Lead RCA, RCM, FMEA/FMECA activities and translate findings into maintenance strategies * Develop and maintain reliability standards, CBM/PdM guidelines, and playbooks * Mentor maintenance and reliability personnel in data-driven decision making and proactive maintenance * Prepare lifecycle asset decisions including tactics, spares, and replacement recommendations * Travel 20-40% to operations; remote reporting to Chicago headquarters Tasks * 8-15+ years in maintenance, reliability, maintenance engineering, planning/scheduling, or asset management in mining or heavy industry * Proven involvement in CBM/PdM programs * Strong understanding of asset failure modes and sensor/condition monitoring data * Foundational OT/IT integration knowledge, historians, and CMMS integration * Working knowledge of predictive analytics and machine learning applications in asset health * Ability to translate data outputs into engineering actions * Experience with APM systems is a plus * Hands-on RCA, RCM, FMEA/FMECA and bad-actor elimination experience * Remote work with travel and coordination across multiple sites * Reliability or asset management certifications are assets * Salary range: $120K-$130K and comprehensive benefits Key requirements * retirement benefits * health benefits * paid time off * parental and caregiver leave * life & accident insurance * discretionary bonus with potential equity
