Director of IT - Cloud and Developer Operations

Experteer Overview In this role you will lead strategic and hands-on IT operations for EOED’s cloud and developer platforms, enabling scalable, secure delivery of business applications. You will shape technology strategy, governance, and modernization across enterprise systems while ensuring compliance with Commonwealth standards. You will build and guide high-performing technical teams and partner with cross-agency leaders to improve reliability and security. Compensation / Benefits * Provide strategic and operational leadership for cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and enterprise applications * Modernize cloud platforms and DevOps practices to enable rapid, reliable deployment * Develop and execute EOED’s IT Strategic Plan with governance and roadmaps * Oversee IT operations including end-user computing, networks, and major initiatives * Lead infrastructure, application development, and end-user support teams * Advance modern software delivery including AI-enabled SDLC capabilities * Lead disaster recovery, COOP/COG planning and technology resilience * Manage vendor relationships, staff development, and cross-functional collaboration * Coordinate with EOED agencies and partners for service delivery and security compliance * Oversee platforms such as Salesforce, including integrations and deployments * Drive continuous improvement in security, reliability, and operational efficiency * Other duties as assigned Tasks * Five (5) years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, DevOps, and modern application delivery * Extensive hands-on cloud experience (AWS and Azure) with storage, networking, DR, and security * Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, automation (PowerShell, AWS CLI), and monitoring * Knowledge of enterprise databases and environments (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, VMware) and enterprise apps (Salesforce) * Leadership of large technical teams and IT service delivery, including governance and vendor management * Ability to develop strategic roadmaps in a regulated environment and communicate with executives * Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences Key requirements * comprehensive benefits * hybrid work model * career development opportunities * supportive public sector culture * equal opportunity employer
