Senior Cloud Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you will design and operate hybrid cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure to support multiple Air Force programs. You will work with cross-functional teams to deploy, secure, and scale cloud services in a DevSecOps environment, focusing on Everything-as-Code. You’ll monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot cloud resources, while ensuring compliance and security. This position combines hands-on cloud engineering with on-site collaboration in a mission-driven, fast-paced setting. Compensation / Benefits * Design, deploy, and manage hybrid cloud infrastructures on Microsoft Azure (IaaS & PaaS) * Automate deployments using Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, ARM/BICEP) * Provision, maintain, and scale Azure resources in collaboration with cross-functional teams * Monitor resource utilization for cost efficiency and scalability * Troubleshoot issues and perform root cause analysis * Ensure infrastructure meets security, compliance, and DevSecOps standards * Support CI/CD pipelines and integrate infrastructure automation into development lifecycle * Implement containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) for microservices * Configure and maintain monitoring to ensure availability and performance * Identify optimizations to improve efficiency, reduce latency, and uptime * Apply IAM, network segmentation, and encryption to protect hybrid clouds * Assist in audits and compliance initiatives (RMF, NIST, ISO 27001) * Provide Tier-2/3 support for escalated issues and coordinate with vendors * Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps Tasks * US Citizen with active Top Secret clearance and ability to obtain SCI before start * Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience or Master’s with 2+ years (additional experience accepted in lieu of degree) * DoD 8140 Intermediate certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) * Azure certifications such as AZ-104 or equivalent from other providers * Proficiency in virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, OpenStack) * Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI) * Hands-on experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation) * Solid understanding of Docker and Kubernetes * Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana) * Strong networking knowledge (VPCs, subnets, VPNs, firewalls) * Practical knowledge of DevSecOps principles * Interest in ongoing cybersecurity and DevOps learning Key requirements *
