Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you design, develop, and validate real-time embedded software for Zoox’s Battery Management Systems within the Firmware Power Systems team. You’ll implement safety-critical logic, manage hardware bring-up, and ensure seamless integration with supplier subsystems. You work with vehicle engineers and cross-functional partners to drive power efficiency, charging control, and robust vehicle operation. This opportunity centers on building production-quality code for a complex autonomous vehicle platform, delivering measurable system reliability and performance. Compensation / Benefits * Design, develop, and test embedded software for BMS in the Zoox vehicle * Implement core logic for cell balancing, charging control, thermal management, and contactor controls * Integrate supplier sub-systems into the Zoox software stack * Create software requirements, design docs, test plans, and supporting documentation * Collaborate cross-functionally with vehicle, controls, software, validation engineers, and suppliers * Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle: prototyping, requirements, design, implementation, and validation Tasks * 8+ years of experience developing real-time embedded software for Power Electronics and Battery Management * Strong embedded C/C++ programming experience * Experience with embedded micro-controllers and/or microprocessors (ARM, PowerPC) * Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up and system debugging * Understanding of sensors and actuators and automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN) Key requirements * competitive salary * Amazon RSUs * Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights * sign-on bonus * health insurance * paid time off
