Experteer Overview In this Cybersecurity Analyst role, you will safeguard mission-critical Navy systems by monitoring security posture and guiding risk mitigations. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to keep applications secure and support RMF-based authorization processes. The position blends remote work with onsite responsibilities in Yorktown, VA, emphasizing communication, self-direction, and collaboration. You’ll contribute to protecting national security while advancing your expertise in DoD cybersecurity practices. Compensation / Benefits * Monitor and report on security posture of mission-critical systems; communicate risk and mitigations * Collaborate with development, system administration, and test teams to secure applications and environments * Perform RMF tasks for assessment and authorization of deployments * Prepare and deliver customer deliverables and define scope per customer requirements * Provide information assurance expertise and collaborate with teammates to serve the user mission * Work with motivated teammates, offering and receiving reciprocal support * Communicate technical concepts clearly to leadership and stakeholders * Develop and implement mitigation strategies and drive re-testing of affected systems Tasks * Active DoD Secret clearance or higher * Bachelor’s degree (preferably IT-related); 5+ years in cybersecurity or related fields * Certifications meeting DoD 8140 IAT Level II (e.g., Security+, CISSP) * Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies, RMF, and NIST SP 800-53 for system accreditation * Experience developing RMF artifacts and implementing security controls * Experience analyzing vulnerabilities and reporting to leadership * Experience with DoD tools for vulnerability assessment and compliance (eMASS, ACAS, STIGs, SRGs, SCAP, XCCDF) * Understanding of Linux/Windows, networks, deployment environments (data center, cloud) * Experience collaborating with developers and system admins to resolve issues * Excellent written and spoken communication; ability to work independently Key requirements * flexible time off * robust learning resources * comprehensive benefits package * healthcare * retirement benefits * continuing education
