SAP RTR Lead Consultant

The SAP RTR Lead owns Client’s Record-to-Report processes within SAP. This role supports finance and accounting operations, month-end close, GL, AP, AR integration touchpoints, fixed assets, cost accounting, project accounting, controlling, reporting, audit controls, and integration with operational processes. The role partners with Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Audit, Operations, SAP functional leads, AMS, and project teams to ensure the SAP finance solution is stable, compliant, accurate, and continuously improving. Process Scope

• General Ledger and journal entry processes
• Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable integration touchpoints
• Fixed Assets
• Cost center accounting, profit center accounting, internal orders, and controlling
• Product costing, production order settlement, project/WBS accounting, and manufacturing finance integration
• Month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit support
• Integration with QTI, PTP, FTP, EWM, MDG, BlackLine, and reporting tools, Business Process Ownership
• Own the RTR process and serve as internal escalation point for complex SAP finance and controlling issues.
• Partner with Accounting, Finance, FP&A, Audit, and business stakeholders to resolve defects and improve financial process reliability.
• Drive standardization and control discipline across finance processes, month-end close, reporting, and operational finance integration.
• Identify recurring manual adjustments, reconciliation issues, data defects, and process gaps that create close delays or financial risk.

SAP Solution Ownership

• Own SAP FI/CO configuration and functional design within Client’s governance boundaries.
• Support enhancements involving GL, AP/AR integration, asset accounting, controlling, product costing, internal orders, WBS/project accounting, settlement, allocations, and reporting.
• Partner with QTI, PTP, FTP, EWM, MDG, technical, and analytics teams to ensure financial impacts are understood and controlled.
• Review AMS proposed fixes and designs to ensure they support financial controls, auditability, scalability, and SAP standard practices.

Controls, Close, and Reporting Support

• Support month-end close activities, financial issue resolution, and urgent finance production support needs.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests, including evidence, access, transaction, and process control documentation.
• Drive improvements to financial reporting, reconciliation, and financial master data governance.
• Partner with Finance leadership to prioritize SAP improvements that improve close quality, financial visibility, and operational decision-making.

Documentation, Testing, and Mentorship

• Ensure RTR configuration documents, process flows, functional specifications, test scripts, controls documentation, and training materials remain current.
• Mentor RTR analysts in SAP FI/CO, financial process integration, troubleshooting, and business partnership.
• Own RTR testing for releases, fixes, enhancements, integrations, and future plant rollouts.

• 7+ years SAP FI/CO experience with hands-on configuration and production support.
• Strong understanding of accounting, financial controls, month-end close, and finance integration with operations.
• Experience supporting manufacturing finance processes such as costing, inventory valuation, production order settlement, or project accounting.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues across configuration, master data, transactions, integrations, and business processes.
