Sr. Virtual Solutions Engineer - Davenport, IA

TheSeniorVirtual Solutions Engineer supports both the sales process and customer project delivery.Theyare responsible forevaluatingmanufacturabilityof customer parts, helping customers improve their designs when appropriate.TheSeniorVSE is also responsible for concepting and validating solutions using simulation software.Finally, theSeniorVSEis responsible foroff-line robot programming in various software packages., * Handle the most complex and large-scale automation projects

• Provide training,guidanceand oversight toVSE’s.
• Support effortsofSales, Process Engineering, and Project Teams.
• Review and provide input to customer proposals when requested.
• Generate new solution layouts or continue development of solutions created during quoting.
• Validate solutions through simulation software to eliminate as much uncertainty and risk in the intended process as possible.This includesoptimalpart orientation, layout and robot reach optimization, payload analysis, tool/fixture access confirmation, andtakttime analysis.
• Direct Mechanical Design and Tool Design in implementing the validated layout for detailed design work.
• Review the integrated System and Tool Design to confirm reach, part access, tool clearance, etc.
• Create virtual work cells and Off-line Robot Programs when requested.
• Become proficient with the 3D printer and Insight software.
• Performs other related work and special projects.
• Obeys company policies and procedures andobservesall safety regulations.
• Establish andmaintainsolution configurations within simulation software.
• Collaborate with design personnel and project team to implement simulated solutions and manage change throughout the project lifecycle.
• Evaluate manufacturing takt time through simulation.
• Authority to evaluate project and company risk.
• Authority to purchase on behalf of the company according tospendpolicy.
• Authority to work out of sequence.
• Authority to inspect for fitness of use.

• Four-year engineering degree or equivalenteducation and experience.

Experience:

• Tenor moreyearsof relevant professional experience.

• Advanced knowledge oflaser equipment, processes, and applications.

• Advanced knowledge ofarc welding equipment, processes, and applications.

• Workingknowledge of SolidWorks.

• Advancedknowledge ofsimulation / off-line programmingsoftware.

• Visual Components

• Robot-specificoff-lineprogramming software (RoboGuide,KukaSim,MotoSim).

Required Abilities:

• Creativity to explore multipleviablesolutions and evaluatestrengthsand weaknesses of those options.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to workin a stationary position while programming and using softwarefor extended periods of time.

• Ability to work within the manufacturing environmentfrequentlywhile testing software, troubleshooting controls, and investigatingissues.

• Occasionallyascends/descends a ladder while working in the manufacturing environment.
