The role is centered around the Rust programming language, creating software that operates within Embedded Linux and Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) environments. You will work closely with the platform’s technical lead to derive and document low-level designs, uphold software engineering standards through peer reviews and testing, and mentor engineers new to embedded software development. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver maintainable, safe, and concurrent embedded applications using Rust.
  • Collaborate with the platform technical lead to derive, document, and execute detailed low-level software designs from higher-level system and functional requirements.
  • Ensure software quality and adherence to development processes through unit and integration testing, peer code reviews, and maintaining high documentation standards.
  • Mentor and guide team members new to embedded software development or the Rust programming language.
  • Specify, design, and implement functionality and behaviors of embedded subsystems running on Embedded Linux and RTOS.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of embedded software development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in the Rust programming language, including its ownership model, memory safety guarantees, and concurrency patterns.
  • Proven experience developing software for Embedded Linux and open RTOS operating systems.
  • Hands-on commitment to robust software development practices, including unit testing, integration testing, code reviews, and technical documentation standards.
  • Experience with software tools such as Git version control system, Jira, or Azure DevOps., * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar discipline.
  • Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience with TCP/IP, CAN, USB.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Work Environment

Work in a high-technology HVAC engineering environment, contributing to a project that is ramping up a new generation platform for controllers.
