Senior Manager, Network & Cloud Architecture

Experteer Overview In this role you will lead Crusoe’s four-domain network and cloud architecture, shaping a unified, low-latency fabric for edge PoPs, backbone transport, data centers, and SDN/cloud control planes. You’ll balance cross-domain tradeoffs to optimize AI/HPC workloads, set engineering standards, and drive multi-year roadmaps with product and hardware leadership. You’ll mentor a growing team of architects and engineers while delivering production-ready designs. This is a mission-driven opportunity to scale AI infrastructure at hyperscale and influence how edge-to-cloud networks power the world’s AI workloads. Compensation / Benefits * Own the architecture strategy connecting edge, backbone, DC fabric, and SDN overlays as a single system * arbitrate cross-domain tradeoffs impacting backbone, data center fabric, and overlay overhead for AI/HPC workloads * Set engineering standards, reference architectures, and design-review processes; sign off on major decisions * Define north star for PoP design, peering, IX participation, and edge compute/caching placement * Lead long-haul/core network design including BGP, MPLS/segment routing, and multi-region redundancy * Guide spine-leaf fabric, RDMA interconnects, and high-density GPU rack design for hyperscale clusters * Shape SDN control plane architecture and Kubernetes networking for customer-facing cloud constructs * Promote intent-based networking, GitOps, and single source of truth for networking * Collaborate with Product, Hardware, and Infrastructure to align multi-year roadmaps * Coordinate with software and operations teams to integrate input into designs Tasks * 12+ years of network engineering/architecture experience * 5+ years in people leadership of ICs * Experience scaling infrastructure at hyperscale, AI cloud, or large-scale colocation * Deep fluency across edge, backbone, DC fabric, and SDN/cloud domains * Strong SDN and cloud-native networking knowledge (SDN controllers, Kubernetes CNIs, overlays) * Proven ability to set multi-year technical strategy and influence senior stakeholders * Experience building and scaling technical organizations, hiring senior and staff engineers * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent) Key requirements * Competitive compensation and equity * Health, dental & vision insurance * 401(k) retirement plan with company match * Paid time off and holidays * Professional development & tuition reimbursement * Parental leave
