Job description
Saalex is seeking a Journeyman Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) in Camarillo/Naval Air Station Point Mugu, CA to support cybersecurity, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and Certification & Accreditation (C&A) activities. The selected candidate will support system authorization efforts, maintain cybersecurity documentation, implement information assurance requirements, and help ensure systems maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) status in compliance with DoD requirements., * Support Certification & Accreditation (C&A) and RMF activities for assigned systems.
- Prepare, update, and maintain RMF documentation and security artifacts.
- Support Authority to Operate (ATO) efforts and continuous monitoring requirements.
- Assist with implementation and maintenance of security controls.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies, procedures, and RMF requirements.
- Support security assessments, remediation activities, and documentation updates.
- Assist with security reviews of technical documentation and system changes.
- Provide cybersecurity and security awareness training to system users.
- Coordinate cybersecurity activities with system owners, administrators, engineers, and stakeholders.
- Maintain current knowledge of emerging cybersecurity requirements and technologies.
- Support configuration management and documentation control efforts.
- Conduct technical research and information gathering activities as required.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting Information Assurance (IA), RMF, cybersecurity, Certification & Accreditation (C&A), or related cybersecurity activities.

Must hold one of the following certifications:
- CISSP
- CASP+
- CompTIA Security+
- CEH
- Equivalent DoD 8140/8570-compliant Information Assurance certification
Working knowledge of NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) and system authorization concepts.
Experience supporting security documentation, security controls, continuous monitoring, or accreditation activities.
Familiarity with Windows, UNIX/Linux, networking, and enterprise computing environments.
Ability to interpret and apply cybersecurity policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
Desired:
- Experience developing RMF authorization packages.
- Experience supporting Navy, NAVAIR, or other DoD programs.
- Experience serving as an ISSO, IAO, or cybersecurity compliance specialist.\
- Familiarity with eMASS and DoD cybersecurity tools.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. Additional technical education or cybersecurity-related coursework preferred.
Security Clearance:
Active Top Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) access. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
