Frost National Bank is seeking an experienced EDW Test Automation Engineer to join its Enterprise Data Engineering team. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, integrity, and reliability of enterprise data warehouse (EDW) platforms, ETL pipelines, and downstream analytics applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in EDW/ETL testing, SQL, Java automation, and backend data validation, with the ability to design scalable automation frameworks that improve data quality across complex enterprise systems. As a Quality Automation Engineer III, you will serve as the organizationâs data quality champion by validating large-scale data transformations, identifying data inconsistencies, automating regression testing, and collaborating closely with Data Engineers, Architects, Product Owners, and Business stakeholders. You will also mentor junior automation engineers while promoting testing best practices and framework governance. - Root Cause Analysis, * Design, develop, review, and maintain automated testing frameworks for Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and ETL applications.
- Build scalable automation solutions to validate complex backend data transformations and ensure complete data integrity.
- Develop automated regression suites for enterprise data pipelines and warehouse environments.
- Write advanced SQL queries to validate source-to-target data movement, transformations, aggregations, and reconciliation.
- Perform detailed ETL testing by validating extraction, transformation, and loading processes across multiple data sources.
- Analyze complex production defects and data inconsistencies to identify root causes and recommend long-term solutions.
- Troubleshoot data quality issues including transformation errors, duplicate records, truncation issues, mapping discrepancies, and performance bottlenecks.
- Execute manual data validation when required and convert repeatable test scenarios into automated regression tests.
- Validate data mapping documents, business rules, metadata, and data lineage across enterprise applications.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Architects, Developers, Product Managers, and Business Analysts to understand business requirements and testing objectives.
- Review automation code and mentor junior Test Automation Engineers on framework standards and SQL optimization techniques.
- Develop API and backend automation tests using Java-based frameworks.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous quality validation.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily standups, and release planning activities.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, batch, and end-to-end testing across enterprise data platforms.
- Support performance testing initiatives for ETL jobs and data warehouse workloads.
- Maintain detailed testing documentation, automation reports, defect logs, and quality metrics.
- Ensure software quality throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Requirements
- Bachelorâs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Information Systems, or related technical discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
- 4+ years of experience in Test Automation with strong emphasis on Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and ETL Testing.
- Proven experience validating enterprise data warehouse architectures, ETL processes, and backend data integrations.

- Experience building automation frameworks using Selenium, REST Assured, or similar automation tools.
- Experience performing API testing and backend validation.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to independently investigate production issues.
- Hands-on experience using Git or other distributed version control systems.
- Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and Agile methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to mentor team members and lead technical discussions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber (BDD), Appium, JMeter, SoapUI, or Postman.
- Experience integrating automation into Jenkins, Maven, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD platforms.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery.
- Experience with batch processing validation and scheduling platforms.
- Exposure to cloud-based data platforms.
