Oncology Data Specialist PRN

Responsible for computer abstracting of cancer cases to meeting American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (ACOS) and Florida Cancer Data Systems (FCDS) requirements. Maintains a computerized master file and accession register. Perform a variety of duties involved in the organization, oversight, and documentation of a cancer registry in an ACOS accredited program.

Do you have experience in Medical record abstraction?, * Require a minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare-related position.

• Require the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) credential within twenty-four (24) months of hire/promotion date.
• Require active Florida Cancer Data System Abstractors Code. Must be obtained within the agreed upon timeframe provided by management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prefer knowledge of Human Anatomy & Physiology and medical terminology.
• Prefer working knowledge of all functions of a Cancer Registry.
• Prefer demonstrated ability to multi-task and keep current on ongoing projects and time restraints.
• Prefer demonstrated computer experience with Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office System.
• Prefer demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and organizational skills.
