Job description
Experteer Overview As an IS Director, you will shape the enterprise data strategy and governance for MaineHealth’s Enterprise Intelligence team and data platforms. You’ll lead data integration, DB administration, and cloud-first initiatives on AWS, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-efficient data assets. You’ll partner with stakeholders across the organization to drive analytics quality, AI-enabled solutions, and Epic data architecture (Clarity, Caboodle). This role combines strategy, vendor management, and cross-functional leadership to enable data-driven decision making across a complex health system. Compensation / Benefits * Develop and implement organizational data strategies and processes for the Enterprise Intelligence team and related systems * Oversee database administration and data engineering, including Epic data environments (Clarity, Caboodle) * Lead cloud-based initiatives on AWS (S3, Redshift, Glue, DMS) ensuring reliability, security, and cost efficiency * Manage budget and vendor relationships for data platforms and services * Provide high-level analytics and quality applications consultancy and guide AI-enabled system selection/implementation with a focus on data governance * Collaborate with stakeholders to align data architecture with enterprise goals and clinical/data operations Tasks * 8-10 years of proven senior leadership experience including success managing managers * Master’s degree or equivalent experience * Strong understanding of on-premises databases (SQL Server, Oracle) and AWS cloud data ecosystems (S3, Redshift, Glue, DMS) * Strong project management skills * Knowledge of data lake/lakehouse concepts and Iceberg/open formats * Experience supporting Epic data architectures (Clarity, Caboodle) * Outstanding organizational and PM skills * Proven track record leading data strategy within complex organizations Key requirements * paid parental leave * flexible work options * student loan assistance * professional development opportunities * well-being resources
