Job description
Experteer Overview In this role you will support the AgriLife digital platforms by developing and sustaining WordPress-based sites and full-stack web applications. You collaborate with designers, content managers, and project leaders to ensure accessible, high-quality solutions. You will diagnose issues, implement fixes, and contribute to data architecture and API integration. This position combines front-end and back-end work with a strong focus on accessibility and standards compliance. You will join a mission-driven team shaping public-facing web experiences in a research and education environment. Compensation / Benefits * Review WordPress site documentation and production results to identify root causes and resolve issues * Troubleshoot complex WordPress problems including theme conflicts, plugin failures, performance, and accessibility defects * Contribute to data architecture design for web applications and API integration within WordPress and custom solutions * Evaluate WordPress plugins, themes, and tools for security and maintainability * Assist project leader with work plans, timelines, and tracking milestones for site builds and migrations * Develop and test complex WordPress themes, custom plugins, and full-stack applications according to specifications * Create technical specifications and contribute to design documents * Author and maintain technical documentation and provide guidance to junior staff Tasks * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; 3 years of WordPress and web development experience * Strong HTML5, CSS3, PHP, and JavaScript skills for WordPress-based development * Familiarity with WordPress administration, theme customization, and plugin management * Knowledge of web accessibility standards and version control Key requirements * health, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance * paid holidays * paid sick leave * paid vacation each month * Teacher Retirement System of Texas enrollment * employee wellness initiative
