Job description
Experteer Overview As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain the data environment to support clinical and operational decision-making. You will shape enterprise data strategies, develop data models, and lead MDM initiatives in partnership with Data Governance. You’ll ensure secure, high-quality data delivery through pipelines, monitoring, and troubleshooting, while aligning with HIPAA and SLDC best practices. You will collaborate with stakeholders and deliver scalable solutions that drive analytics and business outcomes. Compensation / Benefits * Design, implement, and optimize large, complex data models and storage solutions * Define data strategies, controls, and governance to ensure trusted enterprise data * Lead MDM design, development, and maintenance with Data Governance * Monitor data pipelines, troubleshoot performance issues, and ensure timely data availability * Collaborate with IT, business owners, and end users to document requirements * Promote modern data warehouse practices (governed, secure, automated, elastic) * Prepare data architecture and design documentation for leadership * Support data access management and HIPAA compliance * Deliver data analytics to clinical and operational decision-makers * Work within a SLDC model with peer reviews and validation before user acceptance testing * Gather requirements and translate them into technical designs * Advocate for data quality, consistency, and efficient data flows * Build analytics tools leveraging data pipelines for insights into performance metrics * Recommend improvements to data systems and pipelines * Engage in cross-functional communication and customer service across data consumers Tasks * BS/BA or AS or equivalent * 3 years of data analysis and/or data architecture experience * 3 years of experience with data models (Kimball, Inmon, vaults) * 3 years of SQL (PL/SQL or T-SQL) * Ability to read/ write complex queries and write stored procedures * Ability to analyze SQL execution plans and optimize indexes * 3 years of ETL principles, processes, tools and technologies * 3 years in application development, data analysis, data consolidation, or data governance * Advanced knowledge of Azure data tools (Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse, Power BI, Databricks, DevOps) * Advanced knowledge of AWS tools (Redshift, BigQuery, Looker) * Knowledge of data quality and data governance tools * Experience implementing CI/CD processes * Experience with Data Vault and Kimball dimensional modeling for structured and unstructured data * Excellent technical and interpersonal communication * Strong organizational/time management; ability to manage multiple projects * Strong quantitative and analytical skills * Creative, collaborative problem solving * Preferred: experience with SSIS/Data Factory or other ETL tools * Preferred: cloud technologies including Azure and/or AWS * Preferred: experience with SDLC in EHR environment * Preferred: experience with multiple RDBMS platforms Key requirements * medical plan * dental plan * vision plan * life insurance * short-term disability * long-term disability insurance (LTD)
