Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Java Developer to join an Agile development team working on the modernization of a large-scale environmental reporting and validation platform. The project involves redesigning and developing modern applications that support regulatory reporting, data validation, and integration with multiple backend systems.

The successful candidate will contribute to both backend and frontend development while participating in technical design, architecture discussions, code quality initiatives, and Agile delivery.

  • Design and review technical analyses and solution designs.
  • Develop enterprise-grade Java applications using Spring Boot.
  • Build modern Angular Single Page Applications.
  • Develop secure RESTful backend services.
  • Define interfaces between application layers.
  • Develop and maintain unit tests following Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Perform peer code reviews following GitFlow practices.
  • Ensure compliance with non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, and security.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, analysts, and Agile teams.
  • Participate in sprint planning, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Optionally develop Backend-for-Frontend services using Node.js.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of Java development experience.
  • Strong experience with Spring Boot.
  • Hands-on experience with Angular (versions 217).
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience writing JUnit tests.
  • Experience with REST APIs.
  • Experience with Git/Bitbucket.
  • Experience with Java/J2EE enterprise development.
  • Experience with Public Cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Dutch language proficiency at CEFR C2 level.

  • Experience leading or coaching development teams.
  • Strong coding, debugging, and testing skills.
  • Spring Framework expertise.
  • Maven.
  • Jenkins.
  • Terraform.
  • Domain Driven Design (DDD).
  • HTML5 & CSS.
  • JavaScript & TypeScript.
  • Certified Scrum Master.
  • Experience with Agile leadership responsibilities.

  • Node.js and npm.

  • Experience with government or public sector software projects.
  • Knowledge of environmental or regulatory reporting systems.
