Platform Engineer at OptionsitAbout the role As a Platform Engineer at Optionsit, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and maintenance of our cloud-based platforms. Your expertise will help us enhance our infrastructure, ensuring that it is robust, scalable, and efficient. This position is based in the vibrant city of Malaga, Spain, and offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment that values innovation and teamwork.Key factsLocation: Malaga, SpainEngagement: Full-timeSalary: Competitive and commensurate with experienceVisa: Sponsorship available for qualified candidatesWhat you’ll doDesign, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions to support various applications and services.Collaborate with software development teams to streamline deployment processes and enhance CI/CD pipelines.Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues, ensuring high availability and reliability of services.Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure and deployment processes to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.Automate repetitive tasks using scripting and configuration management tools to improve operational efficiency.Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the design of scalable and secure systems.Conduct regular security assessments and implement best practices to safeguard our platforms.Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our platform capabilities.Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in platform engineering.Engage in incident response activities and participate in on-call rotations as needed.Contribute to the development of internal tools and frameworks that enhance team productivity and collaboration.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.A minimum of 3 years of experience in platform engineering or a similar role.Proficiency in cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.Strong knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, and load balancing.Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.Nice to haveExperience with serverless architectures and microservices design.Knowledge of database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL databases.Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Trello.Previous experience in a DevOps role or with site reliability engineering (SRE) practices.Understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards relevant to cloud environments.Skills & toolsCloud platforms: AWS, Azure, Google CloudContainerization: Docker, KubernetesInfrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormationCI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCIMonitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stackProgramming/Scripting: Python, Bash, or similar languagesPractical notesThis position is based in Malaga, Spain, a city known for its beautiful beaches, rich history, and vibrant culture. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in platform engineering or a similar role.
