Data Scientist

We ARE Renewables is looking for a Data Scientist for one of our clients in the energy sector. We are moving towards a new energy system in which more and more energy is generated sustainably and locally. It is our task to make the energy system more sustainable from a societal perspective, while keeping it robust and affordable. Insight into where and how energy consumption and generation will change, and what the impact of this will be on our grids, is essential to fulfilling our role effectively. Tasks and Responsibilities

• As a data scientist you start your day by carrying out analysis projects related to the energy transition, better grid management, and our sustainable operations. Examples of this include predicting load over time at the transport and distribution levels, automating the grid design process, developing image recognition models, or detecting high-consumption devices at customer sites to estimate flexible capacity.
• Together with subject matter experts from the business, you tackle use cases, determine which datasets are needed, and get to work to arrive at ‘actionable insights’.
• Furthermore, you gather what is needed from IT or our own machine learning engineers to bring your model into production. In doing so, you take into account the automatability and practical applicability of the built products.

• You have completed a university degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Engineering, Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• You have at least 5 years of experience as a data scientist.
• You have experience designing AI/ML algorithms for time series analysis, regression, and classification.
• You have strong programming skills in Python and experience with Git.
• You have experience deploying Data Science models and workflows into production, such as by setting up CI/CD pipelines.
