You Will Work With

  • Leading and mentoring a small team of Azure Data Engineers
  • Designing, building and supporting Azure Data Pipelines and Logic Apps
  • Developing and maintaining solutions within Azure Synapse and Microsoft Fabric
  • Creating, optimising and maintaining complex SQL stored procedures, views and user-defined functions
  • Expanding and enhancing the existing data warehouse with new data sources and datasets
  • Ensuring coding, deployment and engineering best practices are maintained across the team
  • Managing deployments and coordinating engineering activity
  • Troubleshooting data issues and resolving data inconsistencies
  • Collaborating with application, reporting and database teams to deliver business-critical solutions
  • Conducting code reviews and maintaining development standards
  • Improving the performance, availability and scalability of data platforms
  • Keeping up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices

Requirements

  • Strong commercial experience within a Data Engineering, Data Warehouse or SQL Development role
  • Expert knowledge of Azure Synapse Analytics and/or Microsoft Fabric
  • Extensive experience with SQL Server (2016 onwards)
  • Advanced T-SQL skills including stored procedures, views and user-defined functions
  • Experience building and maintaining ETL processes, data integrations and pipelines
  • Strong knowledge of Analysis Services and DAX
  • Experience managing SQL database security and permissions
  • Previous experience leading, mentoring or managing engineers
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Must be currently based in the UK
