Job description
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Analytics Engineer to join a growing, data-driven organisation at a key stage of its development. You’ll play a central role in modernising data platforms, improving data accessibility, and supporting international growth initiatives while working with a modern Microsoft technology stack. The Company They are a specialist information and data services organisation that helps businesses make informed decisions through high-quality data, analytics, and intelligence solutions. With a growing international presence and continued investment in technology, they are expanding their data capabilities to support new products, markets, and customer demands. The business operates a cloud-first data environment and is committed to building scalable, reliable, and innovative data solutions. This role sits within a collaborative data function, working closely with engineering, analytics, and data acquisition teams. The Role As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will take ownership of a key area of the data platform and play an important role in enhancing data quality, performance, and scalability. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, building, and optimising ELT pipelines across cloud-based data platforms.
- Developing and maintaining data solutions using Azure, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, and SQL.
- Supporting data migration and platform modernisation initiatives.
- Improving data processing efficiency and reducing data latency across multiple regions.
- Working with both modern and legacy data models to deliver scalable solutions.
- Developing and maintaining Power BI reporting and analytics capabilities.
- Implementing best practices around data quality, documentation, governance, and maintainability.
- Collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust data solutions.
- Contributing to architectural decisions and continuous improvement across the data platform.
Requirements
- Strong commercial expertise in SQL, which is a core requirement for the position.
- Experience working with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Microsoft Fabric, and Azure cloud technologies.
- Strong knowledge of ELT pipeline development, optimisation, and data integration.
- Experience supporting data migration projects and modernising existing data environments.
- Expertise in Power BI and data visualisation.
- Experience working with legacy data models while delivering improvements and modernisation.
- Knowledge of Agile or Scrum delivery environments.
- The ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
Desirable experience includes:
- Python for automation or data scraping.
- C# development experience.
- Azure DevOps, source control, and branching strategies.
- Data warehousing, datamarts, and reporting databases.
- Exposure to Data Science workflows and concepts.
