Job description

Standard 8 is supporting a space agency looking to appoint an IT Security Manager to lead its internal security capability. You’ll manage a small team, shape security strategy and remain hands-on where it matters, helping protect a complex technology estate spanning infrastructure, cloud platforms and business-critical systems.

You’ll take ownership of security across the organisation, working closely with technical teams and senior stakeholders to improve security posture, manage risk and drive continuous improvement., * Leading and developing a small cyber security team

  • Delivering the organisation’s security roadmap and controls framework
  • Acting as the senior escalation point for security-related issues
  • Overseeing security operations, incident response and vulnerability management
  • Supporting secure Azure and AWS environments
  • Managing and optimising security tooling including SIEM, EDR and related platforms
  • Reviewing projects, infrastructure changes and technical designs from a security perspective
  • Driving secure-by-design principles across technology initiatives
  • Managing third-party security providers and key supplier relationships
  • Leading risk assessments, audit activities and compliance initiatives
  • Maintaining incident response and business continuity capabilities
  • Delivering security awareness and guidance across the wider business

Requirements

  • Enterprise infrastructure and networking
  • Identity and access management
  • Threat detection and incident response
  • Vulnerability management
  • Security governance, risk and compliance
  • Secure development and DevSecOps practices

Experience with Splunk Enterprise Security would be advantageous.

Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CRISC, CEH, AZ-500 or AWS Security Speciality are beneficial, but practical experience and technical credibility are what matter most.
