Job description

Experteer Overview As a Senior Network & Systems Engineer, you will lead administration and optimization of secure, complex IT environments for national defense initiatives. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy network and server solutions that meet stringent security standards. You will diagnose and resolve system and network issues, automate repetitive tasks, and ensure platform health across physical and virtual infrastructures. This role offers the chance to influence mission-critical cyber operations and work onsite at our Groton, CT facility. Compensation / Benefits * Serve as front-line interface for users, conducting systems analysis and development to keep technologies current * Install software, manage permissions, and train users on applications * Administer day-to-day server services for physical and virtual operating systems * Configure and troubleshoot hardware and network interfaces on servers * Analyze alerts, create automation scripts, and collaborate with customers to resolve server-related problems * Provide day-to-day network engineering and security operation/maintenance for secure infrastructures * Design, develop, and test network solutions and lead major project initiatives * Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routers/switches, VOIP, video conferencing, and related components * Implement COMSEC/NIST standards, install TACLANE encryptors, and patch OS/software * Monitor server performance and enforce security/compliance controls (PKI, STIGs, NIST, CMMC) * Maintain/patch servers, troubleshoot, and participate in change management processes Tasks * Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience * DoD Secret security clearance at time of hire * U.S. citizenship required * IAT-II or higher certification required; CompTIA Security+ within 6 months of hire * Experience with Cisco/Palo Alto networking and security infrastructure * Hands-on experience with TCP/IP, subnetting, DHCP/DNS, and troubleshooting * Familiarity with PKI, STIGs/CIS Benchmarks, NIST SP 800-171/800-53, CMMC * Ability to design, deploy, and operate TACLANE encryptors * Experience with virtualization (vSphere/Hyper-V) and Linux/Windows security controls * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills Key requirements * competitive benefits * flexible work environment * on-site location in Groton, CT * EOE/Disability/Veteran * opportunity to impact defense missions
