Job description

Within the Enterprise Security group, you will be a part of the Global Physical Security team responsible for protecting an organization’s people, workplaces, and physical assets worldwide from physical threats. The impact you’ll make

As a Protective Intelligence & Threat Analyst at Lam, you will play a critical role in helping to turn open-source intelligence into actionable tasks that protect Lam’s people, assets, and brand. This is both a protective intelligence and threat analysis position. You’ll need familiarity with established methodologies and frameworks in the intelligence space, the ability to evaluate and analyze information to make it valuable for our stakeholders, and maintain broad situational awareness of threats that may affect Lam’s global footprint. This role sits at the intersection of intelligence, investigations, and security operations and will require an individual who is a self-starter and is comfortable operating across multiple teams. Specifically, a key priority of this position will be to work side by side with Lam’s security managers across the globe and support their regions in assessing risk, identifying physical threats, supporting travel risk management, and more.

The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, skilled at threat hunting, have familiarity with Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) tools, have working knowledge of corporate security investigations, and be comfortable operating in a fluid environment. Experience in the open-source intelligence space, protective intelligence, and investigations is highly desirable. This is not a cyber-threat intelligence position, although you will work collaboratively with cyber colleagues as necessary.

This position is available in Fremont, CA; Tualatin, OR; and Phoenix, AZ. What you’ll do

  • Threat Monitoring and Collection:monitor OSINT, social media, and dark web platforms for risks; evaluate concerning findings and present analyzed intelligence to peers, stakeholders, and leadership, as necessary; monitor global news, geopolitical shifts, and local events affecting safety.
  • Threat Assessment and Investigation: support security managers in investigative matters; evaluate persons of interest and investigate violent or disruptive threats; assist in risk-based intelligence assessments on corporate sites and/or personnel.
  • Operational Support and Briefings:deliver actionable intelligence products and briefings; recommend proactive risk mitigation strategies for travel and facilities; coordinate with Security Control Centers (SCCs) during active incidents.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders:work closely with Lam’s cross-functional teams, such as InfoSec, IT, HR, and Legal to support Lam’s wider goals and growth. Reporting & Metrics: contribute to regular management reporting, offering insights into the performance and effectiveness of the corporate security ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, international relations, or similar fields with an emphasis on analytical skills; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Deep experience with OSINT tools, social media monitoring platforms, and threat intelligence software.
  • 3-4 years of proven analytical capability, to include strong investigative skills to parse vast amounts of unstructured data and distinguish credible threats from online noise.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with little guidance.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams and stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications

  • Expert level proficiency with Boolean logic and threat tools in the marketspace.
  • Practical familiarity with dark web investigations.
  • Data automation and scripting to automate open-source intelligence.
  • Experience within a global semiconductor company or equivalent industry.
  • Ability to break down and understand complex problems and the ability to develop a plan and innovative ways to address them.
