Retool Product Owner - Low Code/AWS/Claude/Python

We are seeking an experienced Retool Product Owner & Low-Code Solutions Lead to drive the growth, adoption, governance, and support of the Retool platform across the enterprise of one of our client’s organizations. Focos for this role is 50 - 60% hands-on Builder/Solution, 40-50% Product Owner, Evangelist and Trainer. Candidates needs to have a background with Retool, AWS, Claude, Low-Code, Python / scripting for POC’s. This role serves as the primary subject matter expert (SME) and product owner for Retool while partnering closely with business leaders, developers, architects, and technology teams to identify, design, and implement innovative business solutions. The ideal candidate does not need prior Retool experience. Instead, they should possess strong experience with comparable low-code/no-code application platforms, workflow automation tools, internal business application development, and modern software delivery practices. The successful candidate will combine product ownership, solution architecture, business consulting, application development, and platform governance expertise to help business teams transform ideas into scalable solutions. This role will lead platform enablement efforts, support business users, build proof-of-concepts (POCs), establish best practices, conduct office hours, and help mature this company’s Citizen Development capabilities., Platform Ownership & Strategy

• Serve as the enterprise owner and primary SME for the Retool platform.

• Define the platform vision, roadmap, governance model, and adoption

• strategy.
• Evaluate new business use cases and determine solution feasibility.
• Develop standards, reusable patterns, and best practices for solution
• development.
• Act as the primary liaison between the client company and Retool.
• Business Consulting & Solution Design
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand workflows, business
• processes, and operational challenges.
• Facilitate requirements gathering and solution discovery workshops.
• Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Design low-code, workflow, automation, and AI-enabled solutions that
• deliver measurable business value.
• Provide architectural guidance and technical direction to developers and

• Proof of Concept (POC) Development
• Build rapid prototypes and proof-of-concepts for business cases.
• Demonstrate potential value, efficiency gains, and automation
• opportunities.
• Convert successful prototypes into production-ready solutions.
• Lead solution demonstrations with business and technology leadership.
• User Support & Developer Enablement
• Serve as the primary support resource for Retool developers and business
• users.
• Troubleshoot platform issues and provide advanced guidance.
• Assist development teams with architecture, integrations, and best
• practices.
• Maintain knowledge articles, documentation, and self-service resources.
• Establish a strong support model for platform users.

Retool Office Hours & Community Leadership

• Lead recurring Retool Office Hours sessions.
• Conduct platform demonstrations and enablement workshops.
• Build and grow an internal community of practice.
• Support onboarding of new developers and business users.
• Promote Citizen Development best practices throughout the organization.
• Platform Governance & Administration
• Define and manage governance standards and operational procedures.
• Support release management, change management, and lifecycle
• processes.

• Partner with infrastructure and security teams on:

• SSO and identity management
• Role-based security
• Source control integrations
• Environment strategy
• Platform performance and monitoring
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security and architecture standards.

AI & Innovation Leadership

• Identify opportunities to leverage AI within business applications.
• Design and implement solutions utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs)
• and AI services.
• Build AI-powered assistants, workflow automation capabilities, and
• intelligent business applications.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend new capabilities for the
• platform roadmap.

Training & Knowledge Transfer

• Deliver instructor-led training sessions.
• Develop onboarding programs and learning paths.
• Mentor business developers and technical teams.
• Create reusable training and enablement content.
• Help establish a sustainable Low-Code Center of Excellence.

Experience with one or more of the following platforms:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software

• Engineering, Business Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience delivering enterprise software solutions or business
• applications.
• 3+ years of experience supporting, administering, developing, or owning a
• low-code/no-code platform.
• Experience serving as a product owner, platform owner, solution architect,
• technical lead, or similar role.
