Job description
As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will work on major weapons programs integrating complex mission systems. You lead teams of developers and provide strategic guidance to our clients. You understand and influence multi-system architecture and translate into concrete tasks for yourself and the broader team. You are an ambassador for Lone Star working on the most challenging portions of our clients’ portfolios.
Due to government clearance requirements, this position requires that the applicant be a United States Citizen. Legal residents do not meet this requirement. All work will be performed on-site, in person at a secure facility. This is not a remote work position.
This position requires the ability to fulfill duties and responsibilities such as:
- Design and code software products for Lone Star and Lone Star clients
- Provide senior guidance and architecture reviews for existing and proposed systems
- Ability to meaningfully contribute as a senior individual contributor to complex weapon systems
- Collaboration in a dynamic, team-based environment
Requirements

Must Have at Least a DoD Secret Level Clearance, with ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) approval
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience developing C / C++ software for embedded defense applications
- Experience with real-time or low-level system development.
- Experience with DevSecOps practices, including automated builds, testing, and secure integration workflows and working within Agile software development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or similar).
- Ability to work on-site in either McKinney, Texas or El Segundo, California
- Active DoD Secret Level Clearance
Additional Desirable Qualities
- Government Reference Architecture (GRA) or Open Mission Systems (OMS) development
- Development with GPUs and CUDA
- Knowledge of radars, image processing, or signals processing
